Dr. Thomas R. Cheezum

Dr. Cheezum attended The College of William and Mary in Virginia, where he received his Bachelor of Science in 1974. He went on to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry to receive his Doctor of Optometry in 1978. He opened his practice in Chesapeake in 1978.

Dr. Cheezum was Virginia’s Optometrist of the Year in 1998 and received the Virginia Optometric Association's Distinguished Achievement Award in 2006. He served on the Virginia Board of Optometry for eight years and is a member of the American Optometric Society.

Specialty areas that Dr. Cheezum focuses on include: difficult contact lens fitting, laser vision surgery consultation and co-management, treatment of ocular disease and infections, including conjunctivitis and glaucoma. Dr. Cheezum also works with patients who have had vision loss due to macular degeneration.

Dr. J. Andrew Miller

Dr. Miller joined our practice in 2007, and received his undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama in 1998. He attended optometry school at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was recognized with the 2002 Rosemore Award for Excellence in Primary Care, as well as the Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor society. Following optometry school, Dr. Miller served as an optometrist in the United States Navy.

Dr. Miller has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and infections, including glaucoma and dry eye, and he also works with complicated contact lens fittings.

He is a member of the American Optometric Society and the Tidewater Optometric Society.
